The Stand-Off System: The Stand-Off System is also based on the same core technology as the Portal System and includes the same display capabilities including the automatic threat detection tool. This is a camera-only system and does not employ a controlled environment like that of the Portal or Walk-By Systems. This system was designed for applications where the detection of smaller objects was not a requirement (where other systems would be more appropriate) and where there was a need to detect at greater distances. In the picture below, two cameras are mounted in a building and scan the subject as they walk through an area. One camera examines the front side and the other the backside. The Stand-Off System can be operated in a single or multi-camera fashion depending upon application and detection objectives. It is tuned to detect larger threats ranging from body bombs to assault rifles and larger handguns.
